Meet Phalaborwa’s new House music ambassador

Home-grown House music to heal your soul

The South Eastern Limpopo town of Phalaborwa has a new ambassador for House music. The name is Ntsako Agreement Mathebula, a second year Administration Information Management student at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Polokwane.  The 21 year old Ntsako the DJ took time out to speak to the The Flair Concepts Magazine about her new House music offering

Her new House single Just Watch was released on Monday 1st June, and she is pleased to see that the song is already seeing a lot of downloads on various digital platforms. Her music is being downloaded via YouTube, Amazon, Google Play and other online platforms.

Ntsako the DJ got into the entertainment world while she was still doing grade 11 at the local high school at Phalaborwa’s Majeje Village. She says that was after her classmate heard her singing after school. But it actually all began at the Emmanuel Assembly Church where she used to sing at youth services, and she went on to become part of the Worship Team at the Church.

Working with her team manager Mr Norman Mashale has been the best highlight for her because as she says, he has been helping her a lot to bring out the love she has for the music that she does, which is what her fans are looking for.

Locally Ntsako the DJ has been working with other contemporary music lovers in her neighbourhood, namely the likes of Tlangi, Bree, and Observ. She is currently working with DJ Mamela at the Mamela Studio and Entertainment, who composes and produces her music.

In the mainstream music industry, Ntsako the DJ sees herself headlining house music events with leading commercial House music acts in the country. Her ultimate desire is to work with big House musos such as DJ Maphorisa, DJ Tira, and Oskido.

Though her music is not currently enjoying airplay at local and national radio stations, Ntsako the DJ is enjoying positive recognition at local events in and around Phalaborwa, and is pleased that her latest music offering is getting massive downloads by her fans on digital platforms.

Mathebula defines her brand of House music as one that brings out love in people.
She believes that love has the ability to mend and heal broken hearts.

If I dont have passion for the music that I do, then I am just an empty vessel which makes the loudest noise.

Though she is taking a little break now to focus on her studies, Ntsako the DJ promises to continue doing what she loves best, namely bringing out more homegrown House hits for the fans, under rhe tutelage of her team manager Mr Norman Mashale and fellow House musician DJ Mamela at Mamela Studio and Entertainment. Ntsako is already writing lyrics for an album that she plans to release around October this year, 2020.
Ntsako the DJ would like to see change with regards to how our homegrown music is treated. She would also love to see better collaboration between local artists to grow the genre.

What I would like to see is the respect that we give one another, because while working with people we have to have respect for each other. Ubuntu (the spirit of humanity) counts when working with people.
